FIVEaa Breakfast’s David Penberthy has called on local pollies to “do what the rest of us do and make a booking” after another politician turned up announced at a restaurant with 100 people.

Earlier, Liberal candidate for Adelaide Shaun Osborn was criticised for inviting up to 10,000 residents to meet him at ‘Pane e Latte’ without consulting with the owner.

At the time, Mr Osborn’s Labor opponent Steve Georganas said the move was “poor form”…

But Penbo revealed during Wednesday’s Breaking @ 8 segment:

“Last week Steve Georganas arrived with 100 -- 100! -- people at the ‘BarZaar’ restaurant and pub on Unley Road on a Monday night when they had bugger all stuff because Monday’s such a quiet night.

“There was no booking made, there was no phone call. They had prepared to cook probably three schnitzels…

“All hell broke loose at ‘BarZaar’. The staff were totally under the pump. My mail us they handled the situation admirably with the unannounced arrival of Steve Georganas.

“These people deign to rule our country, they deign to govern our lives -- you would think that something as simple as realising in advance that a booking for anywhere between 100 and 10,000 people may require some kind of pre-emptive conversation with the owners.

“Fellas, the moral of the story is pretty simple. If you’re going to rock up at a restaurant do what the rest of us do and make a booking.”
