Port Adelaide vice captain Ollie Wines says he would go back and kick a drop punt instead of a snap during his clutch shot at goal during the Showdown that ended up out of bounds on the full.

“Yeah, probably,” Ollie told FIVEaa. “I’ve got a fairly solid routine with a normal stock standard drop punt set shot, but I’m not too rehearsed in a snap.”

“The angle I was initially put on I was thinking a snap’s probably easiest here, and nine times out of 10 I hit them, but in that moment I wasn’t big enough to stand up.

“It was one of those moments that if I could go back to I’d change.

“I didn’t have the best day and it all built up and culminated at that one kick. That’s probably the one kick that’s remembered for perhaps not winning the game, but as we’ve seen this week there’s been plenty of moments.

“I understood that it was my time to step up and kick that goal but it wasn’t to be. I’ve moved on and got on with the work for this week.”
