Prominent Adelaide city councillor Anne Moran is floating the possibility she will quit after she and a colleague walked out of a council meeting on Tuesday night.

Councillors Moran and Phil Martin exited the council chamber during a debate about parking changes in North Adelaide that could impact nurses at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

FIVEaa Breakfast’s David Penberthy reported during Wednesday’s Breaking @ 8 segment:

“I’ve confirmed that overnight Anne Moran has sent an email to her colleagues and to others that she may quit the council, that she may walk away.

“She says she’s not really sure why she would bother going back to this council if she’s going to be treated the way that she and Phil Martin believe they were treated last night.

“There is an alternative view within the council that Anne and Phil are just upset that they don’t have the numbers and their own agenda can never get up and instead they just want to blow the whole joint up…

“As things stand Anne has said ‘I’m at the point where I’m starting to think why do I bother.’”
