Nick Riewoldt Shares Heartbreaking Truth About His Late Sister

1 min read

Retired St Kilda champ Nick Riewoldt says after his sister Maddie passed away he had trouble remembering her “as she was”.

Nick wrote about his sister in his new book ‘The Things That Make Us’ and he told Rowey and Bicks there were “a lot of tears”.

“It was really tough to talk about but talking about it is important,” Nicks said.

“In the immediate aftermath of Maddie dying, I found it really hard to remember good times and happy memories and remember her as she was.

“The last seven months in intensive care were so horrific and she became unrecognisable in the end that’s all I could see for a long time — the hospital, the sadness, the struggle,

“Writing the book made me re-live and re-experience all the good times as well.”
