Adelaide Crows captain Rory Sloane admits he “wasn’t overly keen” to be part of a new documentary exploring the inner sanctum of six AFL clubs, but was won over when he realised what the series would mean for fans.
‘Making Their Mark’ is coming to Amazon Prime Video on 12 March and features a number of AFL stars including Sloane.
He told Rowey’s Sports Show:
“It first came to me from Fages and Nicksy. I wasn’t overly keen to have a crew follow me around but Fages said – I still remember, he goes: it would be absolutely great for the footy club and our fans too.
“Once you think about it from that point of view and what our fans would love to see, that’s what got it over the line for me. Hopefully it shows a lot of what the boys did throughout the middle part of that year to really turn the tide and come home in a strong way… I hope it shows and reflects that.
“I think six teams had the Amazon crew follow a few individuals around and the footy club. It’s going to be a great insight for anyone who supports the six teams and the broader AFL community, just an insight to what actually goes on inside the four walls of a footy club.
“What a unique year to film on it too. There couldn’t have been more hurdles and much more go on from a COVID point of view and even from us from a footy club point of view.
“I think our fans will enjoy it. Everyone wants a bit more access inside the four walls. You’ll certainly get it with this.”
