Graham Cornes has nominated the “two minutes” off football that turned the 2021 AFL Grand Final as one of the biggest sports stories of the year.
Cornesy told Rowey’s Sports Show:
“Melbourne winning a flag, that’s a huge story. And the way they did it – the most unbelievable two minutes… the last minute of the third quarter.
“If you’ve got it taped, keep it – probably it will be on YouTube already – but you will never see two minutes of football like that again, in my opinion.”
Cornesy’s biggest three sports stories of the year also included the Taylor Walker racial slur and Tim Paine sexting scandals.
