Kochie Goes Off Following Eddie McGuire’s Latest Comment On Prison Bars Stoush

1 min read

“I am absolutely ropeable”

Port Adelaide chairman David Koch says he is “absolutely ropeable” following former Collingwood President Eddie McGuire’s latest comments regarding PAFC’s prison bars jumper.

McGuire admitted on Footy Classified on Wednesday that he only agreed in 2007 to allow Port to wear the prison bars during heritage rounds because he knew the heritage fixtures were about to be axed.

Kochie told David & Will on FIVEAA Breakfast on Thursday:

“In my world that’s insider trading…

“That just infuriates me more. After that comment last night I am absolutely ropeable that we could be hoodwinked like this…”

Kochie also revealed the club would be docked points if it went ahead and wore the prison bars in its home Showdown against Adelaide without AFL approval.

“It’ll cost me points,” Kochie said. “I did ask that. I said I’m happy to pay a fine just wear the bloody thing. They said we’ll fine you and take points off you. It would be four points for the game – we can’t afford that.”
