David Boon has remembered his friend and former teammate Dean Jones as a fine cricketer with a “heart of gold” during an emotional tribute on FIVEAA Breakfast.
Speaking only hours after learning of Deano’s sad passing, Boon told David & Will on Friday:
“We’re all shattered… I was only talking to him a couple of days ago. He was being his usual inquisitive self about the rules of the game. Everything seemed perfectly fine… it’s a great shock and a very sad time.
“We’ve lost a dear friend… sorry gents… he had a heart of gold.”
PENBO: “We can skip it if you want, Boonie.”
BOON: “Nah it’s alright.”
