A Double Showdown Could Be On The Cards In Pre-Season Reshuffle

1 min read

“I can neither confirm nor deny” 😉

FIVEAA’s Stephen Rowe reports the Crows and Port Adelaide are likely to play each other twice pre-season as the AFL tries to minimise team travel.

Rowey told FIVEAA Breakfast’s David & Will on Monday:

“I’m led to believe the Fremantle trip for the Crows and the West Coast trip the weekend after – early March – that’s going to be binned. Crows and Port will play each other two weekends in a row. The AFL doesn’t want any travel, it’s too risky, and I can see that. So we’re going to have two mini Showdowns in pre-season the next two weeks.”

WILL: “That will be a good test for the young Crows because that Port side looks pretty crash hot.”

When Port chairman David Koch was later asked about the report, he gave an interesting answer… Listen for yourself here:

PENBO: “I love it when people answer like that.”

KOCHIE: “I know. That’s why I did it… so I don’t get into trouble. Knew nothing, can neither confirm nor deny.”
