Crowds at this year’s Adelaide 500 were well down on previous years, with the event recording it’s lowest Saturday crowd (56,000) in 21 years and its lowest four-day total (206,350) since 2002.
66,000 people attended the event on Sunday, compared to 91,000 on Sunday last year [source: adelaidenow.com.au].
Premier Steven Marshall said all aspects of the event would be reviewed.
“The challenge for the sport is to engage the next generation of fans,’’ Mr Marshall said.
