What does your sleeping position say about you?

3 min read

Your sleeping position says way more about your personality than you realise.

Here are the most common sleeping positions, and what they say about your personality…

FETAL POSITION

One of the most common sleeping positions, if you take on fatal, it means you have a tough exterior, but on the inside, you’re actually quite shy and sensitive.

YEARNER

The “Yearner” position involves you sleeping on your side with your arms stretched out in front of you. Studies show if you choose this position, you are an inviting person. However, you can be a little suspicious and cynical. You’re also slow at making decisions – but once you’ve made up your mind, you’ve made up your mind.

LOG

Straight up and down and on the side – your legs are straight and your arms are by your sides. If you like this position, it means you are very sociable, according to studies. It means you engage well with all different types of people. You can be very trusting, which can leave you gullible too.

SOLDIER

Almost a military type stance, this one. You sleep on your back with your arms straight down by your side.  Soldier sleepers usually live up to the name of this position – they take themselves quite seriously, and are very well structured. They also have high expectations of themselves and those close to them.

FREEFALL

You love sleeping on your stomach, head turned to one side with your hands near or tucked under the pillow. Freefallers are generally “free” types of people – very sociable and can also be brash at times. They are secretly nervous on the inside and have an over-sensitivity to criticism.

STARFISH

The starfish position is how it sounds – sleeping on your back with your legs and arms stretched out. People who take this position on tend to be loyal friends, making friends huge priorities in their lives. They love hearing the problems of others and will do their best to help however they can.

SOLDIER/STARFISH

A combo! People who sleep like this – on their backs, but not as rigidly as a soldier, nor the free sprawling of a starfish, so somewhere in-between – they have the attitude of flexibility and a go-with-the-flow nature. They also tend to be easily persuaded.

PILLOW HUGGER

Clutching the pillow with your arms and legs, this position reveals the nature of the person. Pillow huggers place high importance on their friendships, relationships and family. They tend to be people-pleasers, and attempt to put others before themselves most of the time.

SNORER

Not exactly a sleeping “position”, but this reveals something about you. If you’re a snorer, it means you tend to have more extreme emotions, which manifest in hyperactivity, aggression or depression. Snorers are also known for their passion and ability to live life to the fullest.
