Victoria Has Just Recorded Australia’s Deadliest COVID-19 Day

Victoria recorded Australia’s deadliest day since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to 7 News:

On Monday, the Department of Health and Human services confirmed there had been another 322 new cases and 19 deaths in the past 24 hours.

There have now been 229 deaths in Victoria – 48 of which have occurred in the past three days.

Sunday had the previous highest number of deaths at 17 fatalities and recorded 394 coronavirus cases from more than 41,000 tests.

This comes after Melbourne completed its first week under Stage 4 restrictions, with five weeks to go.
