The Oaklands railway crossing has been given the go ahead

1 min read

The green light has been given to the Oaklands railway crossing near Marion with the federal and state governments reaching a funding deal, despite no infrastructure money in the last federal budget for South Australia.

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO

$175 million will be spent to build a rail underpass and new station — the third Oaklands platform in a decade — beneath the intersection of Diagonal and Morphett Roads to help ease traffic congestion.

Some of the money has come from savings made on the T2T project in Adelaide’s west.

Work will commence in 2018.
