A $650 million “jobs rescue package” will be unveiled on Thursday in a bid to help SA cope with the coronavirus crisis.

According to The Advertiser:

Premier Steven Marshall’s second stimulus plan will take the state’s spend to $1 billion, making it one of the most generous packages in the country, based on population.

Premier Steven Marshall’s second stimulus package will take the state’s total spend to $1 billion.

The package, which follows an earlier $350 million stimulus, comes as the state’s public sector will be given an additional 15 days of personal leave for coronavirus, when required. Councils are expected to follow the SA public sector’s lead.

The Federal Government also has made moves to reduce barriers for people trying to access support, as tens of thousands of South Australians lose their jobs.

Mr Marshall told The Advertiser the new package would have a strong focus on the property, retail, construction, housing, primary industries, food, wine and hospitality sectors.
