1 min read

A disturbing video produced by NSW Road Safety and viewed tens of thousands of times online shows the devastating impact of not wearing a seat belt.

The slow motion clip, published on the Daily Telegraph Facebook page, shows four test dummies inside a crashing car.

Two dummies – the driver and passenger behind the driver – are wearing belts, while the other two are not.

The impact on the dummies without their belts is terrifying.

The front passenger’s head goes through the windscreen, while the passenger directly behind is catapulted out of its seat and into the front passenger.

“This is why it’s the law to wear a seatbelt,” a caption says at the end of the video.

“Clip every trip.”
