WARNING -- second Adelaide motorist robbed in disturbing trend

2 min read

SAPOL reports that another motorist has been robbed by thieves impersonating police.

This time a man had cash stolen after a car travelling behind him on Spains Rd, Salisbury, flashed its headlights and activated a blue flashing light on its dashboard on Wednesday night.

The victim was then approached by to men — one of whom was carrying a machete — and threatened before he was robbed.

“Police are aware of a similar incident which occurred about 2.30pm on Friday 3 February on the Thiele Highway between Kapunda and Eudunda,” Detective Chief Inspector Shane Addison said.

“The suspect descriptions do not match however. Elizabeth CIB and Barossa CIB are investigating any potential connection between these two incidents.”

Police have released descriptions of two of the suspects involved in the second attack:

– The armed suspect is described as being aged about 50, of Caucasian appearance, about 178cm tall with short dark hair. Wearing a black T-shirt and dark jeans, he was very thin, had unshaven stubble and missing teeth, along with a black cursive writing tattoo on the left side of his neck.

– The second suspect is described as being aged 20, with dark hair and wearing gloves.

– The victim was unable to describe the third suspect or the vehicle.

The suspects drove away after the robbery and were last seen heading north-west along Spains Road towards Hollywood Plaza.

Anyone who may have information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at crimestopperssa.com.au. You can remain anonymous.

* Stop at a place they feel safe, such as a well lit area or an area with other people;

* Request to see the person’s identification; and

* Advise the person they are calling police to verify their identity.
