Scammers have been quick to pounce after the Commonwealth bank announced compensation for its system outage last week.
The bank is offering 50 dollars to customers impacted by the incident, and fraudsters are now calling people, claiming to be from the bank, requesting account details for the transfer of the money.
The bank says it is not making such calls. Those who believe they’re eligible for compensation should contact the bank, or visit a branch.
