SA Health Is Getting 300 More Staff

1 min read

SA Health will get 300 more staff to help track the contacts of coronavirus patients in SA.

According to The Advertiser:

The 300 new staff are from a variety of places and include medical students and people from the public sector, depending on their skills.

The tracing staff will need to interview patients and try to track down their contacts to see who else may have been infected.

Almost 27,500 tests have been conducted in SA across 54 separate testing sites, including 48 in regional areas.

The testing time in SA is down to 17 hours and is being conducted around the clock.

There are about 1500 tests done per day, but that’s set to rise to 2000 per day and even higher.

SA has performed 15,000 tests per million of population, ahead of Australia’s average of 10,000 per million, and ahead of Italy, South Korea, Spain and other countries.
