Prime Minister Scott Morrison has announced the Australian Government is working with Chinese authorities to help evacuate Australians stranded in Wuhan province as the death toll from coronavirus continues to climb.
By late Wednesday morning the toll was more than 130.
Mr Morrison said children and elderly who were recent arrivals in Wuhan would be assisted in the evacuation. Evacuees will be taken to Christmas Island where they will be quarantined and monitored.
The PM also announced one million facemasks will be made available from a national stockpile amid fears the masks were selling out in Australia.
