Plane wreckage with pilot skeleton and Malaysian Airlines colourings found: report

1 min read

A man is claiming he has found plane wreckage off the coast of the Philippines.

There are reports a man has found aircraft wreckage with the Malaysian Airlines colours printed on it off the coast of the Philippines.

Two men say they were hunting for birds when they spotted the wreckage in Mindanao — the second largest island in the country.

The discovery was made by Jami Omar who has claimed that he discovered human bones in the pilot’s chair.

“There was a skeleton still in the pilot’s seat. The pilot had his safety belt on and the communication gear attached to his head and ears,” Omar told local police, according to Free Malaysia Today.

Malaysian transport minister Liow Tiong Lai said: “I have told the DCA to look into the report. We don’t know if the report is true, so we need to verify it first. Let’s not speculate.”

MH370 went missing on March 8 2014 without a trace with 239 people on board. A flaperon discovered on Reunion Island in July was confirmed as a part of the missing plane. An ongoing search is continuing to find the rest of the missing plane.
