Victorians may need to sort household rubbish into six different bins to help improve the state’s recycling effort.
According to 7 News:
On Monday, a report from Infrastructure Victoria said one of the “best practice” solutions was to separate at least five types of materials into rubbish crates.
These include organics, plastics, paper and card, glass and metals.
Homes would still need a regular waste bin too, bringing the total number of bins to six.
Currently, households generally have three bins from green, mixed and household waste.
But Infrastructure Victoria’s Elissa McNamara said it was important to look at what is “reasonable” to roll-out.
Victorians may soon have to separate their rubbish into six different bin crates in a bid to fix the state's recycling woes. #7NEWS https://t.co/RI9iMRcY4B
