Matthew Abraham Fires Up Over Steven Marshall’s Use Of “Fake News”

1 min read

Political commentator Matthew Abraham has Steven Marshall in his sights after the premier this week dismissed as “fake news” a leaked document revealing the South Road upgrade won’t be complete until 2035.

Matt told FIVEAA Breakfast’s David & Will on Thursday:

“The government dismissed this as fake news, which enraged me so much I’m devoting my Sunday Mail column to the whole fake news thing because it’s not fake news.

“I reckon Steven Marshall will drop that one pretty quickly from his vocabulary. I know it worked very effectively for US President Donald Trump but I think it’s become a bit of a parody now. School kids talk about fake news. Grandkids talk about fake news.”

WILL: “Fake news is whatever you say fake news is. Little kids get that. You can dismiss totally legitimate things by calling them fake news.”

MATT: “And that’s what Steven Marshall is attempting to do here.”
