Could it be for real? In 2012 an ancient papyrus document known as the ‘Gospel of Jesus’ Wife’ was uncovered – hinting that Jesus could have been married.
Written in ancient Coptic, the papyrus reads: “Jesus said to them, ‘My wife” and ‘…she will be able to be my disciple.”
Of course, if true, the theory would cast doubt on many teachings of the bible, as it would mean Jesus was not celibate – still a requirement for all Catholic priests.

The Vatican has always dismissed the document as a fake, but now new evidence has come to light, suggesting that it could be legit.
Professor James Yardley of Columbia University said: “We are still in the midst of our research and the conclusions are not finalised.”
But new test reveal that the ink could be at least 1,200 years old, This corresponds with carbon dating tests on the papyrus as well.
It would therefore date the document between 400 and 800AD.
