Police have pulled a young man’s body from the River Torrens in Adelaide after he went for a swim and failed to resurface.
The alarm was raised on Wednesday afternoon after he was seen entering the river near Adelaide University before disappearing under the water.
Witnesses told The Advertiser the man was drinking with a group of six friends before he went for a swim.
Three police divers retrieved the body about 7.15pm.
The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and police are preparing a report for the coroner.
