12:58pm: The CFS is telling anyone who intends to leave KI in the event of a fire to do so now.
According to Incident Controller Ian Tanner:
“The CFS urges people not to wait for an Emergency Warning to be issued as it will be too late to leave.
“The roads surrounding Parndana Conservation Park, along with Timber Creek Rd and Playford Highway, are currently open and can be used to exit the area.
“However, these roads will soon be unsafe and will likely be closed because of changing weather conditions and increasing fire activity.”
"Anyone choosing to leave, must do so now."

Regarding the KI fire, the CFS’ Rob Sandford told Adelaide radio on Thursday morning:
“As we’ve been saying the last couple of days today was going to be the day we’ll see the fire break the control lines and that’s already occured in the area known as Cassini,” Mr Sandford said.
“We have crews currently working really hard to try and contain that outbreak.
“Both Kingscote and Penneshaw have designated bushfire safer places and that information is available on our website.”
