Fire crews are fighting a blaze in Adelaide's north

1 min read

UPDATE, 10.14am — MFS says fire has been contained, but is expected to continue burning for hours yet.

Several cars are on a fire at a commercial business in Wingfield. They went up in flames in the scarp yard on Sth Tce just after 9 this morning. LPG tanks are stored near the business and there are reports of explosions.

The emergency is causing smoke to be visible at Wingfield — and the MFS says: “People are advised to stay indoors and close all doors and windows until the smoke has passed.”

40 fire fighters from 10 appliances — with the assistance of the CFS — helped bring the blaze under control.

One worker at the business may have received burns and is being treated by paramedics.
