Two dead after head-on crash

2 min read

UPDATE, 9:51am — Police have confirmed two people are  dead after the collision at Two Wells this morning.

UPDATE, 9:01am — Jane Reilly tells FIVEAA there are reports a car was driving on the wrong side of Port Wakefield Rd for potentially up to 10kms.

Jane spoke on the scene with a witness named Trevor:

“Just before the accident he was heading north… and he saw a sedan driving on the wrong side of the road. He was talking to some truckies on the CB radio, they were all trying to avoid this vehicle,” she said.

Jane said it appeared the sedan could have been driving on the wrong side of the road for up to 10kms.

“There may be other people who have had a very narrow miss on what is a very grim scene here,” she said.

Traffic on Port Wakefield Rd is expected to be closed in both directions until the middle of the day.

At least two people have been injured in a head-on crash in the South Australian town of Two Wells, as emergency services work to free them.

The two cars collided on Port Wakefield Road just after 6am on Wednesday, police say.

Crash investigators are making their way to the scene and traffic is being diverted through Brooks Road and Mallala Road.
