AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan confirms Adelaide’s game against Geelong this weekend will be cancelled in the wake of Phil Walsh’s tragic death.
McLachlan confirmed that premiership points will be split between the two clubs.
He also confirmed that the remaining seven AFL games will go ahead from Friday night.
McLachlan paid tribute to Walsh, calling him “A man of boundless energy, enthusiasm and great intelligence”.
He also expressed solidarity with the Adelaide Football Club. “The industry is with you,” McLachlan said.
