Coronavirus Scare In Bali After A Tourist Tests Positive

Feb 13, 2020

There are concerns coronavirus might have reached Bali after a Chinese traveller from Wuhan tested positive to the virus after returning home from a trip to the popular tourist island.

According to 7 News:

The Jakarta Post reports that the tourist, from Wuhan, where the virus, known as COVID-19, had its origins, tested positive on February 5 after returning to China in late January.

The tourist is believed to have travelled from Wuhan to Bali on a Lion Air flight on January 22 and then back to Shanghai on a Garuda Indonesia flight on January 28…

Authorities in Bali are saying that based on a 14-day incubation period for coronavirus, it was possible the Chinese tourist was not infected whilst in Bali but was infected upon return home.

Bali health authorities have now vowed to trace all the places visited in Bali by the tourist.
