The Bureau of Meteorology said the period from this November to January is going to be wetter than average. There’s going to be heavy rain and cloud coverage, meaning the days will be wet and the nights will be hot.
The likelihood of above-average rainfall for most of the country is around 50 per cent – slightly higher in eastern Victoria.
States are already experiencing heavy rain, with some areas getting the heaviest downpours they’ve had in years.
