The bizarre reason why Facebook won’t let this man access his own wedding photos

2 min read

A man called “Something Long and Complicated” has been locked out of his own Facebook account because of his highly unusual name.

Yep, that’s his name. The 30-year-old Londoner changed his name by deed poll to “Something Long and Complicated”.

Now Facebook administrators have locked him out of his own account because they think his name’s fake. “Something” claims to have sent them copies of documents including his driver’s license to prove that the name is legit.

He says he remains locked out though and unable to access his own photos – including the precious images of his own wedding day.

He also says he can’t access Tinder or other Facebook-dependent sites such as Messenger, which is where he says all of his contact information is stored.

Speaking to the UK’s Mirror, “Something” said: “I have had the account for eight years and they have shut it down before but this time they are not reactivating it.

“Usually it is sorted out pretty quickly but it has been three days now.

“I have sent in all the documentation they have asked for to prove my identity but the account still hasn’t been reactivated.

“I have all my life on there. I use messenger so cannot keep in contact with my friends because all their contact details are stored on there.

“I’m really frustrated and annoyed at this situation. I just want my photos back.”

He added: “All my ‘login with Facebook’ websites like tinder and 9gag wont let me use their services either because my Facebook connect is broken.

“This is a royal pain in the a***. My entire online identity has been robbed by one website.

“I don’t even think I know how much Facebook is ruining my life.”
