Beware Adelaide’s iPhone scam

1 min read

South Australian residents are being warned about a scam after two people bought bags filled with flour instead of electronic goods.

One victim was approached by three men in an Adelaide restaurant last Thursday.

The men offered to sell items including iPhones, an Apple Macbook computer and an iPad Air that they claimed had been purchased earlier that day.

The men produced receipts and the victim agreed to buy the items but later found two bags of flour had been placed in the bag in place of the electronics.

On Friday the other victim was approached by two men who offered five iPhones and an iPad for sale.

After handing over cash the victim also found two packs of flour in the bag.

Anyone with information or who has been approached in a similar manner is being urged to contact police.
