The Orinoid meteor shower will peak on Tuesday night, with the best watching time to start from midnight.
The Orinoids appear every year between 2 October and 7 November when remnants of Halley’s Comet are visible in the night sky.
According to 9 News:
“The best time to see this meteor shower, which could produce 10 to 20 meteors per hour during the peak window, is when the moon isn’t dominating the night sky. That’s because these meteors are more faint than the Perseid meteor shower.
“The meteor shower will peak from midnight tonight. The best view will be during a brief window between the setting of the moon and the beginning of morning twilight. Allow yourself an hour or two to observe.”
Best viewing will be away from the city with a wide view of the sky.
Remnants of Halley's Comet will tonight be sprinkled in Earth's atmosphere to create a dazzling display. #9Newshttps://t.co/MV2vt16drR
