An astronaut filmed a lightning storm from space – and it is BEAUTIFUL

British astronaut Tim Peake has posted a time-lapse video he took from space of a lightning storm over Earth…

And the footage is incredible.

The video was taken from the International Space Station as it travelled over North Africa and Turkey towards Russia, reports the International Business Times.

In a caption accompanying the 34-second video Mr Peake posted on Twitter, he wrote: “Amazing how much lightning can strike our planet in a short time.”
