Christopher Pyne went nuclear on Channel 9’s Today show on Friday morning — accusing host Karl Stefanovic of defaming him.

Karl was questioning Pyne about reports the same Chinese company involved in the Dastyari scandal also donated money to the Liberal Party.
“Trying to link the two, Karl, is actually quite defamatory,” Pyne said.
“You’ve actually tried this morning to setup a straw man, Karl. What you’ve said is wrong.”
Pyne was not happy …
“Don’t defame me on national television!”
Karl shot back: “Don’t defame me by saying I’m defaming you.”

Pyne — who appears every week on FIVEAA brekky — insisted his situation was nothing like Dastyari’s … who has resigned from the Labor frontbench.
“The truth is, people having personal debts paid is completely different. I’ve never received a donation from Top Education,” Pyne said.
“I’ve never had a personal debt paid by any business, because it’s wrong.
“I don’t receive donations … donations come to the Liberal Party.
“I don’t personally get a donation, put in my bank account or do anything else with it … That’s wrong — and that’s what Labor doesn’t get.”
