Tuesday was the warmest first October day recorded in Adelaide since 1954, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
The temperature reached 28C.
Warm temps are set to continue through the week, with Sunday forecast to hit 33C in Adelaide — and temperatures reaching 40C and beyond in other parts of the state.
