The Bureau of Meteorology has increased its already scorching forecasts for Adelaide’s maximum temps on Thursday and Friday.
The BOM’s Simon Timke told FIVEAA’s Leith Forrest on Wednesday afternoon:
“We have adjusted a couple of temperatures for Adelaide as a result of today’s high temperature. We’re forecasting 44 again tomorrow and 45 for Friday.
“We’re expecting Friday to be our hottest day and from a fire weather point of view our most significant day as well. Conditions will be quite windy ahead of the change. We’re expecting the change through he Adelaide area mid afternoon-ish, so we’ll start to see some gradual relief develop…
“But ahead of that, very hot and a bit windy as well. So significant elevated fire dangers there. That will be a bad day.”
LISTEN:
As another day of scorching temperatures bakes SA an extreme heatwave is taking hold and records are likely to tumble. Relief will come to many areas on Friday as a cool change sweeps across the west and south.
