Warning After Hundreds Of Dead Fish Wash Up In Adelaide

1 min read

Locals are being warned not to eat any fish caught in West Lakes after hundreds of dead fish turned up in the lake.

Authorities are testing the water but believe the deaths are a natural phenomenon.

Dr Shane Roberts told 7 News:

“Still conditions, warm conditions over the last week — there’s not much water flow through here at all, the water is murky so it’s likely algal blooms as well, and that drops the dissolved oxygen pretty low.”

“If you’re seeing a fish killed the smart thing to do is don’t go in the water.”
