A Perth council is testing the use of transparent household bins in an attempt to reduce the amount of rubbish residents throw away.
“If you have lots of waste in your bin, we’d love people to have a conversation about reducing it,” Mindarie Regional Council’s Gunther Hoppe said on Perth radio.
“Or if someone has a little bit of waste in the bin — we’d love people to ask how their neighbour they manage to get the waste so low.”
The ‘Face Your Waste’ campaign will run for eight weeks.
