The State Government Has Activated Its Code Red Warning

The SA Government has issued a homelessness Code Red warning due to this week’s extreme heat.

The warning provides more services for South Australians sleeping rough, including water, food, sun protection and welfare checks.

Westcare in the Adelaide CBD, 11-19 Millers Court, will be open until 8pm on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

“I urge anyone who is sleeping rough to take advantage of these extra services, keep out of the heat and stay cool,” Minister Zoe Bettison said on Wednesday.

“Please contact the homelessness gateway on 1800 003 308 to arrange for shelter from the heat, and emergency accommodation where needed.”
