The SES Has Released A Weather Warning

Aug 7, 2019

The SES is urging South Australians to “secure garden equipment, trampolines and any other loose items which have the potential to become projectiles” as stormy conditions lash Adelaide and parts of the state on Thursday afternoon and evening.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology's Catherine Kennedy:

"On Thursday, expect damaging winds across a broad area of South Australia from south of Ceduna to Port Augusta to Renmark.

"This is due to a cold front linked to a low to our south which will also bring with it squally showers and possible thunderstorms and small hail across southern parts of our state.

"For Adelaide, the worst of the winds will occur midday to the evening, including the school pick-up and afternoon commute.

"Conditions will be hazardous about southern coastal areas with rough seas and heavy swell expected with significant wave heights of 5-7 metres about exposed coasts developing during Thursday, persisting Friday before easing on Saturday.”
