Power bills for small to medium-sized business in South Australia have increased by more than double the rate of the rest of the country.
According to Business SA, an Alviss Consulting report shows electricity prices for small businesses were up by an average of $1,000 nationally, compared to an average of $2,250 in SA.
“One of the biggest concerns South Australian small businesses face is the spiralling cost of energy,” Business SA’s Anthony Penney said.
“While there has been some downward movement in wholesale prices, South Australia remains at the top of the national electricity costs table. The time has come to make sure our politicians know small businesses are still suffering from crippling power costs, at a time when they can least afford it.”
