SA Police Are Cracking Down On This Annoying Road Habit

1 min read

SAPOL says it is targeting the use of indicators as part of its Traffic Thursday campaign.

According to police, you’ve broken the law if you:

– Fail to signal sufficient warning of left change of direction.

– Fail to give five-second signal of left move from stationary position.

– Fail to cancel left signal.

– Fail to signal sufficient warning of right change of direction.

– Fail to give five-second signal of right move from stationary position.

– Fail to cancel right signal.

– Misuse direction indicator.

“None of us has a crystal ball, so it is not just a legal requirement but a courtesy to your fellow motorists to signal your intent,” Superintendent Anthony Fioravanti said.

Traffic Thursday: each month police highlight a road rule that causes the most frustration for drivers.
