SA Health are urging South Australians to chop up their strawberries after a sewing needle was found in a punnet purchased in the Adelaide Hills on Saturday.
On Monday SA Health’s Chris Lease said:
“We thought it’s important to remind people to take a bit of extra precaution and extra vigilance when consuming strawberries and make sure they do chop those before they consume them.
“The way of managing the risk is to chop strawberries before you consume them and that’s how a number have been found. It’s a simple precaution. There’s been a number of brands implicated and those reports are being investigated but while that is happening it is essential that people chop strawberries before they consume them.”
SA Police has confirmed its investigation into the “disturbing” incident at Littlehampton incident is still ongoing.
