There is speculation Sam Newman will announce his departure from the AFL Footy Show on Thursday night.
Newman tweeted a pic of the Footy Show logo on Thursday, along with the caption: “Announcement tonight re this show. Looking forward to it – and GF show next week at Rod Laver arena.”

The Herald Sun reports that “some insiders at Nine” believe the tweet means Newman has decided to leave the show.
He later hinted to the Herald Sun he would have something to say about his future on Thursday night’s show.
“I might clarify that for them one way or another,” he told the paper.
“Since I’ve been on Twitter and that other thing, Instagram, I see it says I actually have resigned, or it says The Footy Show isn’t going on.
“But I wouldn’t read too much into any of all that as it’s from people who actually don’t know.
“I’m the only person that knows.
“What I’ve said is since this started 25 years ago we are only filling in time until we get sacked, one day we will.
“It’s just a fact of life, nothing peculiar in that.”
“But it mightn’t be anything to do with that.”
