UPDATE, 2.58pm — Queensland Police have confirmed officers are investigating one incident involving a banana.
According to a spokesperson it is not thought to be linked to the current strawberry contamination scare and instead “looks to be a copycat thing”.

Queensland police are investigating after a “metal object” was found inside a banana.
This latest development follows recent incidents where sewing needles were found inside strawberries — including inside a punnet purchased in the Adelaide Hills.
