16-year-old lion ‘Yizi’ has died suddenly following a medical procedure.
The Adelaide Zoo says vets found a tumour while scanning Yizi for a health issue, but they were unable to operate and the lion died in recovery.
Yizi’s death is the latest in a string of sad passing at the zoo, which has included an orang-utan, a hippo, a tiger and four-toed sloth.
