Oscar-winner Geoffrey Rush says he is indebted to Adelaide ahead of his role in the remake of classic Aussie film ‘Storm Boy’.
“I spent some very important phases of my life here,” Rush said on Wednesday. “I was at the State theatre Company for about six years, and then I was in and out at various Adelaide festivals.
“And of course I feel very fortunate because I shot ‘Shine’ here, and that completely changed the course of my life.
“I feel quite indebted to this burg. It’s great to be asked to be in this production. I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
Shooting of the film starts next week and will be based in the Coorong and other locations around Adelaide.
The project has been billed as a contemporary re-telling of the 1976 iconic family film.
