The Adelaide City Council is looking for a development partner to upgrade the Central Market Arcade.
The site between the Central Market and the Sir Samuel Way Law Courts is currently leased but comes back under council control in September next year.
The arcade was last upgraded 50 years ago in the 1960s and the Adelaide City Council wants a major redevelopment, which can also include the airspace above the site.
An international call for submissions is underway for a mixed-use project featuring retail, office, accommodation and parking and interested groups have seven weeks to submit their interest.
Current tenants at the arcade will be offered lease extensions until the end of 2020 when work on the project is expected to start.
