Former Teammate Refers Scott Hodges’ Claim To Lawyers

Former Adelaide Crow Andrew Jarman is disputing a story told by his one-time teammate Scott Hodges in Scott’s new book, ‘Not All Black And White’.

In the book Hodges says Jarman accused him in a team meeting of having a miserable and negative attitude, and was later talked out of assaulting Jarman by fellow Crow Darel Hart.

But Jarman says it was Hart himself who called out Hodges and, according to The Advertiser, he has referred the matter to his lawyers.

The book’s author and FIVEaa’s own David Penberthy says the story is not a knock on Jarman.

“The way Scott tells the story in the book is less about Jars and more about Scott’s over-the-top reaction to perceived criticism at that players’ meeting, which he later recognises as a sign that he was getting things out of proportion on account of his health problem,” Penbo told the paper.

“There is no malice in the story whatsoever. Indeed, Scott says in his book that he always got on well with Jars anyway.

“None of this reflects poorly on Jars and I am sorry if he took it that way.”

Hodges himself said: “The only reason I recounted that story was to show how things had started getting to me at the Crows. It was about my reaction.”
